I’ve been on the hunt for a cool beanie for a while and found one today at Chasing Bees, at the Oranjezicht City Farm Market in Granger Bay. It’s the best beanie of the bunch-let me tell you why.
Chasing Bees is a small family-run, Cape Town based business focused on making responsible products, trading ethically, supporting the local economy and operating on a soft carbon footprint. The best part for bee-loving me was finding out about CB’s support of wild bee conservation and preservation, something they do by contributing towards Ujubee, an organisation dedicated to the study of and habitat conservation of these critical insects so vitally important to the health and biodiversity of our planet.
Aside from beanies, they also do kikois, robes and board shorts. At the OZCF they’re located next to another cool brand that does stunning shirts- The Proper Store, owner-managed by legend Cape Town designer, Paul van der Spuy.
Pop in, buy a beanie (etc) and make a difference to a bee near you.
Until next time,
