Off to Kalk Bay, Cape Town

February 1, 2013

How fortunate to be able to have a meeting in the picturesque seaside village that is Kalk Bay, about 25 minutes from the City. The sweeping views along the journey, across the Muizenberg Bay into Kalk Bay, are ┬átotally stunning. An early lunch at La Parada- the newly opened Spanish tapas bar, next door to the Olympia Cafe- was fabulous. Chef Eva, newly landed from Spain, is creating authentic tapas dishes from the Seville area – ensaladilla (prawn salad), croque tas de jamon (ham croquets), arroz con leche (rice pudding) etc etc….deliciousness! Eva, born in Madrid, previously worked as a chef in a 3 star Michelin restaurant in Seville. La Parada is open daily from 12pm until late with a full bar service available. The friendly waitrons speak Spanish too, just in case. It’s time for a bit of Spain by the sea, so vamos – go & see for yourself!
